Success in architecture

Architecture is powerful. It allows us to realise our wildest dreams. In a way it really is the fiction of the human world. Cities are one of the places where architecture play an extremely important role. With a little creativity and the power of architecture, urban problems can be elegantly resolved. The thermal power plant in Copenhagen is a brilliant example. Here the idea everyone has of power plants is challenged and is married with a ski park. This is the perfect example of bigamy, where two seemingly independent ideas are brought together to create something the new. This method of thinking can lead to simple yet ingenious solutions to seemingly impossible real-world problems. Architecture has the potential to change the way we live and the world. An inseparable aspect of architecture is creativity. In this fast changing, complex world, problems need to be solved creatively for the most efficient results. Creativity is the ability to think differently, to look at things

Diomira              After reading the given excerpt, I was able to very vividly imagine a bustling city. To me Diomira seemed like a city somewhere in the middle east because of the domes and colourful lanterns. However the statues reminded me of an ancient roman city.               I drew what I think the lady on the terrace must be seeing. These are drawings of how I think the lanterns must have looked. This is another representation of Diomira. Just like me, the artist chose to draw a city scape. However our ideas of Diomira are very different. Here the artist imagines Diomira in a more Indian setting. this is apparent from the lady in the saree, and the statues of gods.

The City of Diomira This is my first poem, so I don't really know. I'm just a beginner, I hope it doesn't show. Sitting on my mattress, in my teeny tiny dorm, thinking about Diomira. The city fabled in travellers' lore. A magical place with sixty domes, winding streets and hundreds of homes. I feel like I've been there, I feel like I've done it all. A beautiful fairyland, with statues grand and tall, A wonderland where all dreams comes true. Brightly lit lanterns and amazing food. Like a traveller, lost in time, Transported through miles and miles. And then I open my eyes and see, I'm still in my teeny tiny dorm. But I'm inspired now. To travel, to see, to smell, to feel, all that is foreign and, all that is new. After all, the world is waiting for you.
